2014-2015 Registration

Pre-school registration
packets will be available at the school office on April 1, 2014 for the upcoming school year.  Students who will be 2.9 years of age as of Aug. 31, 2014 can enroll in our program.

Kindergarten registration:
  If you wish to register your child for Kindergarten for the upcoming school year,  please contact the school office at 508-764-5460 for additional information.  In order to register for Kindergarten, students must be 5 years of age as of Aug. 31, 2014

ERS Instructional Focus Statement
All staff and students at Eastford Road School will engage in a coordinated whole-school effort to show growth in pre-reading readiness skills through the implementation of Wilson Fundations, small group instruction and explicit literacy instruction through read-alouds. Kindergarten student success will be measured by DIBELS Next and Standards-based assessments. Pre-Kindergarten student success will be measured by standards-based assessments.

The students in Mrs. Wayman' s Kindergarten Class enjoyed Beach Day by snacking outside with friends and autographing beach balls to take home.


The children in Ms. Frabotta's Kindergarten classroom enjoyed a fun filled learning experience when visiting The Southwick's Zoo in Mendon, MA on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.



The Preschool and Kindergarten students at Eastford Road School attended a Memorial Day Program on Thursday, May 22, 2014.  Mr. Christopher Olivo
was our guest speaker discussing the meaning of Memorial Day and the importance of our country's flag.  The children listened to two selections of literature pertaining to Memorial Day, received their own flag and Memorial Day poem as well as having the opportunity to try on Mr. Olivo's various  uniforms.


Students from Ms. Robb, Mrs. Santiago, and Mrs. Hutchens' classes attentively watch a presentation about giving back and helping others, which starred a service dog named Chance.




The children in Ms. Frabotta and Mrs. Fontaine's Kindergarten class enjoy Citizenship Day.



Under the direction of music teacher Mr Matt Kim, students
performed for residents of the Radius Health Care Facility.

Spring is in the air at ERS

Family Social Studies Night was held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Eastford Road School.  The coordinators for this evening were Ms. Frabotta, Mrs. Fontaine, Mrs. Wayman and Mrs. Trahan.  The children listened to four selections of literature and completed extension activities for each of the stories which included Community Helpers, Martin Luther King, Christopher Columbus and The United States flag.




April is Autism Awareness Month

On April 2nd, Eastford Road students and staff "lit it" up by wearing blue
to show support toward autism awareness.

HAVING SOME SPRING TIME FUN!
Ms. Rivera's pre-school class enjoyed a bit of the Spring time weather as they took turns running under the parachute.


On Wednesday, April 2, 2014 Mrs. Jill Congdon, a dental hygenist and a parent assisted Ms. Frabotta's Kindergarten children in completing English Language Arts dental health activities which aligned quite nicely with the Common Core Curriculum for Kindergarten.  This demonstration was in collaboration with a thematic unit on "Community Helpers."

“Locks of Love” is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics.
