Kindergarten registration: If you wish to register your child for Kindergarten for the upcoming school year, please contact the school office at 508-764-5460 for additional information. All staff and students at Eastford Road School will engage in a coordinated whole-school effort to show growth in pre-reading readiness skills through the implementation of Wilson Fundations, small group instruction and explicit literacy instruction through read-alouds. Kindergarten student success will be measured by DIBELS Next and Standards-based assessments. Pre-Kindergarten student success will be measured by standards-based assessments.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2016 the children at Eastford Road School enjoyed a Literacy and Math Bingo Night. Each bingo game supported PreK and Kindergarten Math and English Language Arts skills. Prizes, gift bags and parent informational packets were distributed to all of those who attended. Coordinators for this event were Ms. Skrzypczak, Ms. Frabotta and Mrs. Fontaine.
On Wednesday, May 11th, the students at Eastford Road School were treated to the “African Arts in Education” assembly. Students experienced African culture through music, art and dance!

Ms. Rivera's preschool class enjoyed the sunshine and traced the movement of their shadows with the sun.

On Thursday, March 31, 2016 the children and families at Eastford Road School participated in our annual Social Studies Night. The themes for this evening were Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, The United States flag and Community Helpers. The children completed a Hand in Hand with Martin Luther King Book and a penny power Abraham Lincoln necklace. The children also created a United States flag and listened to patriotic songs. Following Community Helpers Bingo the children decided and drew the job which they would like to have when they grow up. Each child received a bookmark and a certificate of completion. The parents received informational packets. The coordinators for this evening were Ms. Frabotta and Mrs. Fontaine.
On Wednesday, March 2, 2016 the children at Eastford Road School celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday and Read Across America with a special presentation. The children recited the Readers Oath, listened to three selections of Seuss literature and sang Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss and the Read Across America song. The children wore "Cat In The Hat" hats and snacked on one fish, two fish, goldfish. Each child received a Cat In The Hat Certificate and a bookmark to take home. The class with the most number of minutes read during the course of the month received a pizza party. The top reader in each class received a Dr. Seuss book and CD. The children were so excited to have a special visit from both the Cat In The Hat and our school wildcat mascot. The coordinators for this event were Ms. Skrzypczak, Ms. Frabotta and Mrs. Fontaine.
Ms. Doyle, Mrs. Harvey, Ms. Gleason and Ms. Rivera's classes joined together for some green eggs and ham to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
On Thursday, March 17, 2016 Ms. Frabotta and Mrs. Fontaine’s Kindergarten class celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with their families. In the area of English Language Arts the children listened to the story “Hooray for St. Patrick’s Day”, played St. Patrick’s Day Bingo and completed Phoneme Segmentation Fluency shamrock word tapping. The children sorted, counted and recorded how many jelly beans while completing a Math Graphing activity. We concluded with frosting green shamrock sugar cookies and tasting a slice of soda bread and/or
St. Patrick’s Day cake. Lively conversation and a fun time was had by all.
